Bank of Scotland has chosen its Brighton Business Centre as the regional hub for its mini-treasury services.

The move is part of a national strategy of creating regional centres of excellence in deposit-taking.

Andy McGlashen, regional director for the Southern Counties, said: "Once again, it's a question of developing close working relationships with customers.

"All banks and building societies take deposits and most are happy to deal in fairly substantial sums.

"But the difference in the return can easily depend on the expertise of the individual manager who handles the transaction."

Mr McGlashen explained that in its English regions, Bank of Scotland is predominantly a business bank.

He said: "As such, we have continued to invest in developing close working relationships with customers.

"This means that business customers can discuss deposit-taking services with a knowledgeable and experienced business manager who is empowered to agree terms."

He said that getting personal treatment meant they could negotiate tailor-made solutions for their treasury needs.

He added: "Customers with six or seven-figure sums to deposit can often get a better deal than with an off-the-shelf package."
