As Mr Newman goes to the supermarket daily (Opinion, July 11), I assume he only buys a couple of items at a time.
In this case it would only be common courtesy for someone with a large amount of shopping to let him go first. Also, quite often one can pay for a few items at the cigarette counter, to avoid queuing.
