It would take two things to make Brighton and Hove the Place to Be for me. No more homeless people and the West Pier fully restored to its former glory.
The sale of St Anne's Hostel for the homeless by owner Chris Eubank (Argus, July 8) was sad news. I feel great sympathy for the tenants, given notice to quit some of the 70 flats. This news must have come as a great shock.
The consortium, which includes Eubank, has lost its chance of restoring the West Pier, but wealthy businessman Stan Clarke, who runs Brighton Racecourse, has now taken up the gauntlet to restore the old Pier. Let's wish him lots of luck. He'll need it!
