The websites of some of Britain's biggest companies are failing customers who try to get in touch.
Twenty per cent of FTSE-100 firms do not answer e-mails sent via their websites within three months.
The slowest firms include the National Grid and ferry company P&O.
East Grinstead-based Rentokil Initial does better than most, replying to enquiries in just over two hours.
