I am a working mother with a family of four and have discovered in an average week I can recycle one and a half dustbins full of household waste.
I then have to take it by car to the nearest recycling centre. It occurred to me that there must be many other people who are faced with the same dilemma.
The only other alternative is to take recyclable rubbish in carrier bags to the centres several times a week!
Money should be spent on a more efficient collection in a recycling programme bringing us in line with other European countries where it is an offence for householders not to recycle.
