We recently received a phone call from the police, telling us our car, which had just been stolen, had been found. However, when we picked it up we were horrified to discover we would have to pay £105 to get it back.
When we challenged this payment, we were told to claim off our insurance, but once the excess has been considered and the inevitable loss of points from our no-claims bonus what's the point!
We pay full council tax which includes the police service. We feel the current system is wrong and we are victims twice over. Our car gets stolen and we have to pay £105 to get it back. Where is the fairness and justice in that?
