Following the tragic murder of little Sarah Payne, is it time the laws were changed so anyone who commits a sexual offence against a child is locked up for life, not five or ten years, or given time off for good behaviour?
To save the problem of having to keep these offenders segregated in ordinary prisons, why not have purpose-built units specifically for these category of prisoners?
And make a proper prison, not the cushy social clubs so many of these institutions seem to have turned into.
