Southerners are the most frustrated web users in the country, according to a MORI poll.
The company reported 82 per cent of those surveyed in the South of England are annoyed by not finding what they need on the net compared to a national average of 76 per cent.
Only 18 per cent of those surveyed across the country said they always found what they needed on the internet.
John Snyder, chief executive of WebTop, the firm which commissioned the survey, said: "The internet is all about information.
"But it's no good to anyone if you can't find what you need when you need it most.
"Search engines haven't really moved on since the internet was created."
