A couple who fell in love as children celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary this week.
Anne and Charles Dixon were just nine and 12 years old when they played together on Annes' father's farm in Manchester.
The couple, now 87 and 90, lost touch for a couple of years but met up again through the Girl Guide and Boy Scout movement.
They married when Mrs Dixon was just 17.
She said: "We were very young but we knew we were meant to be together.
"Sixty-eight years later, we have had a very happy marriage.
"I think this is because we have always been very honest with each other.
"There have never been any secrets or under-handedness and we have stayed true to each other."
The couple moved to Brighton 50 years ago. Mr Dixon worked as a tool maker until he was 70 and Mrs Dixon was a dressmaker.
They had two sons, Neville and Ray, but tragically Neville died when he was 14.
Ray is now 65 and still lives in Brighton.
The couple also have two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
