Jean White and others should realise people disabled through illness, accident or the fault of others are also worthy of respect (Argus, July 21).
Yes, pensioners have worked through their lives and deserve respect, but disabled people are human beings also.
Able-bodied people do not realise what hardship - especially financial - the disabled go through.
They have to fight for their rights, even when ill and this is when debt accrues and threatening letters arrive. Many disabled people are brushed under the carpet when all they need is their dignity and respect and to be treated as human beings.
