A woman whose car was involved in a collision in which a teenager died is still receiving medical treatment for her injuries eight months on, a court heard.
Janet Stanford was waiting at traffic lights, when her car was hit by a stolen vehicle last November.
She told a jury at Hove Crown Court she had not seen the car coming.
She said: "I stopped at traffic lights on Ditchling Road. An elderly man crossed the road very slowly in front of me and when he got to the pavement he held on to the traffic light and was looking down towards St Peter's Church.
Mrs Stanford said she had heard screeching as if a car was being driven fast but had not seen anything.
She said: "It was very quick, a car hitting the taxi in front of me and then me."
Her car was pushed backwards, despite the handbrake being on, and was written off.
Mrs Stanford, who suffered whiplash, told the court that by the time she got out, the vehicle that damaged her car had hit a wall and was "a heap".
She said she saw two people running up the road.
Jamie White, 18, of Lomond Avenue, Brighton, died in the crash. He was a passenger in a stolen Ford Escort, said to be driven by Gary Whibley, 18, of Ditchling Road. He denies death by dangerous driving.
Jahid Arien, 20, of Woodbourne Avenue and Neil Clarke, 21, of Rotherfield Crescent, both deny aggravated vehicle taking.
The case continues.
