The proposals to transfer the majority of accident and emergency cases to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton is of great concern to residents in Mid Sussex and will have an impact on the residents of Brighton and Hove.

West Sussex Health Authority acting chief executive Michael Taylor's own review of the West Sussex Health Authority's management of health care in West Sussex was alarming. He has stated that we have had the Central Sussex Review and now should get on with it.

I believe these proposals are premature when we consider the issues: Future housing development in Mid Sussex; traffic problems in Brighton; parking issues; cost of transferring services; consultant and medical staff concerns at the loss of major services; inadequate ambulance service and more.

Past experience has shown that to wait and voice concerns when decisions are almost finalised is too late.
