Following the report about the national ME Association disbanding all its UK support groups and attempting to seize local funds to help with their own cash flow, (Argus, July 7), we would like to reassure all those that rely on us for information and support it is business as usual locally.
Thanks to local generosity our organisation continues under the new name Sussex ME Society and we have applied for independent charitable status.
We are aware of the tremendous amount of support ME sufferers often need and we are determined to carry on our work. Representatives of the society will also continue working with Sussex health authorities to look at ways of improving local services. Our new number is 01273 682345.
