A scare was in store for Rebecca and Rob Piper when they visited the Brighton Centre.

The Patcham siblings were greeted by a host of huge bugs blown up to hundreds of times their natural size.

From whopping wasps to scary spiders, the Monster Creepy Crawly exhibition in the centre's Russell Road wing has dozens of giant exhibits designed to thrill and entertain youngsters during the summer holidays.

Live exhibits, from tarantula spiders to more domestic creatures, will also be on display at the exhibition along with a number of stuffed creatures on loan from The Booth Museum.

Rebecca, ten, seven-year-old Rob and Billy Parker, nine, had a great time learning about the life cycles, eating habits and environment of the bugs.

A spokeswoman for the Brighton Centre said: "I think creepy crawlies are something everyone is interested in and this exhibition tells you everything you will ever need to know about bugs."

The exhibition, which will be running until September 5, costs £3.50 for adults and £2.50 concessions.
