Fewer than half of Britain's business leaders use their company sites for sales.
A survey of 179 chief executives has revealed just 39 per cent had introduced new products or services in response to e-commerce opportunities.
Although 90 per cent of firms had a website, just 27 per cent considered selling to be its prime objective.
