Two hundred new jobs will be created when a new call centre opens in Brighton.
Telegen has become the first firm to benefit from assisted area status in Brighton and Hove.
The European Union has just ratified the assisted area map which means companies can apply for cash to move in or for grants to stay put instead of moving elsewhere.
Telegen has won a grant of £95,000 so that it can open for business at Sovereign House in Church Street.
Directors Tony Kinghorn and Steve King aim to create up to 200 jobs by offering the call centre's services to finance, utility, IT and telecommunications organisations.
Lead economic development councillor Don Turner said: "We are confident Telegen will be the first of many companies we will be welcoming now that we can win financial backing through assisted area status."
Telegen was founded three and a half months ago.
Team leader Claire Dickson said: "It is growing very fast indeed. There is an excellent atmosphere and everyone works well together. It is a fun place to work."
The company has a young workforce and there have been some rapid promotions from the ranks over the last few months.
It is now investing heavily in the latest technology so that it can offer a top service to its clients.
Brighton and Hove Council's economic development unit worked closely with the firm on its successful application.
Councillors will join directors and staff in celebrating the grant award on Wednesday.
