Luxury car manufacturer Aston Martin is to create up to 400 jobs with the creation of a new vehicle assembly plant and research and engineering centre.

The new complex will be created at Gaydon in Warwickshire, subject to planning approval, on the 900-acre site of the Land Rover test facility.

A third model line is scheduled to be built and production is expected to begin within three to four years.

The company was founded in 1914 by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford.
