The summer school holidays are here with us and once again I ask why do we let the kids run riot for eight weeks every year?
This weekend I saw a bunch of kids kick their football off Southwick Green into the road, under the front wheel of an elderly gent riding a scooter, sending him crashing to the floor causing damage to his bike and himself.
The kids completely ignored the accident they caused, picked up their ball and carried on playing without even thinking of apologising or asking if the guy was OK.
Parents, if you cannot teach your kids some manners keep them off the streets.
Maybe we should adopt the American example and pack them off to a military summer school where a retired gunnery sergeant can kick discipline and respect into them.
