Councillor Prince reaches a new low in his attempt to defend his position to the residents of Telscombe and East Saltdean (Opinion, August 3).
It is grossly unfair to blame the town clerk for the agenda being presented in such a way as to place discussion of Southern Water's offer as a confidential item.
It was I who queried the need for the item to be confidential. Coun Prince resisted my suggestion that we discuss it in open session and in the end a vote had to be taken to resolve to issue.
Coun Prince states "a new situation" had developed. If so, it was never put to that meeting.
As the deputy mayor and the chair of the policy and resources committee, Coun Prince must take full responsibility for his committee, accept he has made a major error and resign.
-Dawn Davidson, coun, Telscombe Town Council
