A table-top exercise will help response teams cope with future flood warnings.
Exercise Storm Tide II has been designed so flood response teams know exactly what to do in an emergency.
The warning system has been updated as a response to floods around Pevensey Bay last Christmas. An inter-agency group was set up to see how the situation could have been avoided.
Ian Loughborough, East Sussex County Council's emergency planning officer, said: "These multi-agency exercises form a critical part of our readiness for dealing with such emergencies."
The exercise will be held at St Wilfred's Hall, Pevensey Bay, on August 31.
