A Hove designer has created a site which she hopes will launch the next generation of Anthea Turners and Sara Coxes to stardom.

Jo Grant's TVPresenters site will let TV and radio producers pick from a database of talent when looking for new faces or chasing up old ones.

She built the site for former BBC, Sky and Granada presenter Darryl Rose.

She said: "He had his own site but he wanted to put together a new one for this project.

"It took me just two weeks to build."

Mr Rose, who has presented Tricks and Tracks for BBC1 and What's Up Doc on ITV, said: "You find producers don't know all the agents.

"If you are looking for Lenny Bennett, how do you find him?"

Producers can find photographs, biographical details and links to presenters' webpages on the site.

Mr Rose said many would-be TV personalities kept show reels of their performances as video files on their own websites.

Details of agents will also be available on the site, billed as the most comprehensive resource of its kind.

Fans will also be able to use the database to track down details of their favourite faces and send messages to a public e-mail provided by the site.

A basic listing is free but performers will have to pay £75 a year to have full details of their professional history included on the site.
