The Argus review of the This Rough Magic show on the Brighton seafront rather oversold it. I'd even suggest your journalist didn't watch it at all, just like many of the audience.

No one could see it, no one could hear it, the fireworks were pathetic and only viewed by those on the Pier, there was no apparent plot and even those well versed in the Tempest could not make even a vague connection with the show on the beach.

More than 30,000 disappointed viewers waited for a spectacular which didn't happen.
