A man who broke his back after falling 70ft from a clifftop has hit out at his hospital for sending letters about an important medical appointment to the wrong address.
Lee Sambrook, 24, said he had not had a hospital check-up for six months because of the error by the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
Mr Sambrook said: "I have been in a great deal of pain and unsure what I should and shouldn't do.
"I was very seriously injured when I fell and needed a lot of medical attention.
"The sooner I have the hospital appointment and know how I am progressing the sooner I can start getting on with my life. I still have to take strong painkillers.
"It is frustrating to think the appointment was there but the letter was sent to the wrong address."
Mr Sambrook, who still wears a back brace, was too scared to be fully identified in the Argus because he feared his vulnerability made him a prime target for thieves and muggers who might recognise his face.
As well as breaking his back, he suffered head injuries and badly damaged his hip and ribs when he fell from the clifftop at Saltdean on to a concrete walkway last November.
Mr Sambrook, from Seaford, had been working as a hotel chef at the time, living in the complex as part of the job.
He moved out after his fall because he was unable to work.
He said he told the hospital he had moved and what his new address was and so did his GP.
But Mr Sambrook said he still did not receive confirmation of a date for the much-needed check-up with a consultant.
He now has a date set in October for the hospital appointment.
Ian Keeber, a spokesman for Brighton Health Care NHS Trust, which runs the Royal Sussex, apologised for the mistake.
He said: "This is an unfortunate error.
"We deal with thousands of appointments and occasionally mistakes are made.
"We are sorry for the delay."
