While the controversy surrounding the new welcome to Brighton and Hove sign on the A23 roundabout rages, how about a similar sign on the B2123 welcoming visitors to Woodingdean? It could replace the "please keep our village tidy" sign erected in 1992 which is largely ignored anyway.
The village has much to offer: Its Happy Valley, annual carnival, open-air swimming pool, millennium time capsule, computer club, two pubs, shops, its Friends of Woodingdean society, sports and other clubs, the 1967 Community Centre (the building urgently needs modernising) and the picturesque location.
