I find it inexplicable that despite BSE, salmonella, e-coli and other consequences of intensive farming, the majority of the population continue to consider such foodstuffs a necessary part of their diet.
Perhaps, like smokers who know the dangers and yet continue to smoke, meat-eaters lack the necessary willpower to give up what may be pleasurable but is a far from essential ingredient for healthy living.
