Aerco Holdings, the Horsham-based electromechanical distribution firm, has bought a 75 per cent stake in Fan Technology, also of Horsham.
Fan Technology will continue to operate as an independent company within the Aerco Holdings group.
The existing co-directors and founders of Fan Technology, Robin Cook and John Claxton, will remain as directors and shareholders.
Fan Technology will move from its site in Redkiln Way to Aerco's headquarters at the Lawson Hunt Industrial Park.
Mr Cook said the move will not result in any job losses.
He said: "The acquisition will allow Fan Technology to grow and will eventually lead to more jobs.
"Our knowledge of the fan market, combined with the financial and marketing strength of Aerco, will improve the levels of service we offer our customers."
Currently Fan Technology has a staff of six and Aerco 38.
Mr Cook said: "Over the past ten years or so, we have developed a high reputation based on a wide product range, quick deliveries and technical support."
The new managing director of Fan Technology will be Rob Laughton, managing director of Aerco Holdings, and he will be joined on the board by his father and Aerco founder, Bill Laughton.
Mr Laughton said: "This acquisition provides a natural extension to Aerco distribution activities, with no product overlap between the companies."
Fan Technology was formed in 1988 and has built up the widest range of powered fans available from a single UK source.
Aerco has a 40-year history of distribution of components for aviation, military and industrial applications.
