Selma Mountford asks why people living in Patcham are using Park and Ride instead of their own local buses (Opinion, August 24). If she depended on the 5A (Patcham Old village) route she would soon find out.
Since the new "improved" re-scheduling, our service has been cut from three to two buses an hour. This would be acceptable if they could be relied upon to turn up. However, because of re-scheduling, up to two buses a day are regularly taken off the 5A route, leaving people waiting an hour or more.
How can anyone keep an appointment, or arrange a visit, based on such an appalling service? Although there are still three buses an hour on a different route, the walk to connect with it is too far for the many elderly and disabled people living in this area.
