The hypocracy of the Liberal Democrats, and in particular Coun Paul Cosham, is beyond belief. He piously states the issue of the sewage water treatment plant at Portobello should be above party politics when he and his colleagues have gone out of their way to make it a party issue from the outset, despite the fact independent and ESRA councillors are not a political party.
They would have the public believe they alone are fighting for Telscombe, which is far from the truth.
The reason they are claiming all the credit is because of their mission to gain power again in Telscombe Council. It is no accident those independent councillors whom they have so savagely attacked are the most vociferous opponents of their dictatorial tactics.
The true facts are it was independent councillors who first drew up the list of objections to the Portobello plan and have opposed it consistently at every step of the way, a fact which Coun Cosham must acknowledge. No councillor has undertaken any negotiations with Southern Water. This the Lib Dems also know. Coun Cosham wants me to justify my actions. What actions am I supposed to have taken I should justify?
-Councillor Roy Goodall, Telscombe Town Council
