Albion are releasing teenage central defender Ben Andrews.
The 19-year-old has been told his short-term contract, which expires at the end of this month, will not be renewed.
The Seagulls had high hopes for Andrews when Brian Horton gave him his first team debut at the age of 17.
A ruptured cruciate ligament in his left knee ruled him out for seven months and he has failed to force his way into contention since Micky Adams took charge.
Andrews made the last of his four senior appearances as a substitute at Carlisle more than two years ago.
Adams revealed yesterday that out-of-favour centre half Darren Carr has been placed on the transfer list.
