Adam Trimingham's story of Shoreham Harbour (Argus, September 2) took me straight back to my childhood. This playground of my youth was where a thousand teenage games were enacted.
The dangers to children was immense. Shoreham Harbour was an active port. Timber and coal shipments regularly entered the waterway. Yet to us there was no danger. How could there be? We were young. We were brave. We had no experience. Some of us were in love for the first time.
The new power station in the harbour will ensure Shoreham will continue to be a busy port. But for me, with all my memories, it can never be the same.
