As a resident living near Telescombe Tye, I was particularly depressed to read Chief Inspector Steve O'Rourke, of Sussex Police, defending the travellers who have settled here.
Firstly, they are here illegally and he should be able to do something about them. Secondly, it is clear calls to the police are not logged correctly. I know a number of people complained to the police more than once over the Bank Holiday weekend about the noise and all the police did was try to get us to ring the council.
The police's soft line has resulted in the arrival of more travellers. Residents deserve, and are entitled to, a better service than this.
