Hundreds of people have signed a petition calling for their bus services not to be cut.

Last night campaigners handed it over, accompanied by children's drawings of the buses which may disappear.

The 500-signature petition was presented to Brighton and Hove Council by opposition Tory leader and Kemp Town parliamentary hopeful Geoffrey Theobald.

It came from villagers in Ovingdean, where the bus will be axed as a result of Brighton and Hove Council's decision not to increase its support to the bus company.

Villagers asked for the bus to be restored or for another route to be diverted to serve Ovingdean.
