The Gardner Arts Centre is offering the starstruck a first step into showbusiness.
Managers are looking for new volunteer ushers after former helpers accepted paid positions at the theatre.
American studies graduate Susan Smillie was employed as front of house manager after six months working in the stalls.
She said: "When I first graduated I knew my interest was in arts management but I wasn't sure how to get a foot into the arts world.
"I approached the Gardner as I was familiar with the venue. I loved the programme of work there."
The theatre's links to Sussex University shows in its staff list.
It employs doctor of philosophy Paul Jukes as a full-time technician.
A former social psychology student, Amanda Stockford, is sales and marketing manager. Both started working at the Gardner Arts Centre as volunteers.
Ms Smillie said the usher work was varied and offered an insight into the workings of the theatre.
She said: "You have the opportunity to work with some of the best companies in the country."
Hove-based former Big Breakfast presenter Mark Little and musician Julian Cope are among the big names planned to visit the Gardner Arts Centre in its coming season.
