One of Sussex's most famous DJs has launched an online campaign to help wannabe Fat Boy Slims find fame on MTV.
Horsham-based Carl Cox has encouraged bedroom DJs to upload their mixes to eJay, a dance website of which he is a director.
The best tracks each week will be immortalised on video and broadcast across the entire MTV Europe network.
Web users will be able to see the videos on the eJay website.
At the end of the year Mr Cox will join a panel of judges to vote for the "eJay of Europe".
Mr Cox said: "eJay of the week on MTV is going to be massive.
"When you're starting up getting recognition can be tough. Hopefully we will cultivate some real new talent and give them a helping hand on the way up.
"Maybe one day we could see the MTV eJay of Europe on the decks with me."
The competition is thought to be the largest search for dance music talent.
eJay recently secured headline sponsorship of the 2000 MTV Europe Music Awards in Stockholm on November 16.
Spotter Carl produces exclusive mixes and works as a talent spotter for the eJay site.
eJay was launched in May and aimed at web savvy clubbers and DJs.
It began life as a music making tool but quickly became a website for enthusiasts. It is supported by eJay, a magazine available in Germany and Britain supporting the site and its software.
The site is expected to expand into Scandanavia and France by the end of the year.
Despite hot competition from other music sites, eJay managers hope the mix of exclusive tunes from big names and new talent will draw visitors.
