Manager Dean White last night quit Hastings Town to join the Albion but bowed out in impressive style.
Before the kick-off boss White informed his players that he would be leaving the club at the weekend to take up a full time appointment with the Seagulls.
The players responded well to the news as they chalked up a 5-1 victory and their first ever League win over Sittingbourne.
Hastings got off to an impressive start and were two goals up after 14 minutes as Paul Jones scored on 12 minutes and Duncan McArthur made it 2-0 soon after.
Sittingbourne fell further behind on the half-hour when Stuart Myall scored with a low header.
Just before the break Danny Simmonds made it 4-0.
The home side had a better second half and pulled a goal back when Neil Miller headed home from a free-kick but Town had the last word when McArthur scored directly from a free-kick in stoppage time.
A freak goal from keeper Colin Matthews separated Langney Sports and nine-man Newport at Priory Lane.
The home side were gutted as Matthews' huge kick saw Newport escape with a 1-0 win.
An exciting first 45 minutes saw chances fall to both sides with Langney having the better. John Snelgrove had a header cleared off the line just before Danny Rofe headed over for the visitors.
It was two minutes into the second half when the killer blow came.
Matthews produced a huge kick that fooled everyone, including Simon Davey who could only watch the ball bounce into the net.
Langney could not take advantage when both Steve Tate was dismissed for an off-the-ball incident and Rofe went for a second bookable offence.
