Bobby Zamora is poised to continue as Albion's lone ranger in Saturday's Withdean sell-out against Leyton Orient.
The Seagulls' top scorer has been playing on his own up front.
The new formation has helped Albion to three League victories on the spin and they are unbeaten in six games overall.
Manager Micky Adams resisted the temptation to switch back to twin strikers in the last home match again Cheltenham.
Albion won that 3-0 and were so impressive that Adams is reluctant to disturb the winning formula.
"I'm quite happy to go with the system," Adams said. "Bobby Zamora, bless him, is up there on his own.
"He is only 19, he is still learning the game and he needs a bit of help.
"But when I speak to other managers they tell me to persevere if the lads are happy with it.
"I am just letting it flow at the moment. I've got a terrific set of boys working hard for each other and that's important."
Gary Hart, now on the right flank rather than alongside Zamora through the middle, said: "The gaffer feels I can play there and I am just delighted to have a shirt.
"There are a lot of players nearly getting into the team, but I enjoy playing out there because I get a little bit of space."
The fit-again Lee Steele, a second half replacement for Hart at York last Saturday, will probably have to wait a bit longer for his first start since his summer move from Shrewsbury.
Paul Brooker is also set to stretch a frustrating sequence of five successive substitute appearances.
Steele and Brooker play for the reserves against Bournemouth at Worthing tonight (7pm).
Albion Reserves: Kuipers; D. Davis, Jackson, Crosby, Carr, Johnson, Thomas, Melton, Steele, McPhee, Brooker. Subs: Wilkinson, Hammond, Virgo, Wojciechowski, Hemsley.
