A Hovesoftware firm is staging a £50 million giveaway in a bid to boost its e-commerce product.

Dreamteam Products is to put its EROL Small Store edition package on the front of half-a-million internet magazines over the next four months.

The company has been in talks with four magazines, an online electronics retailer and a number of internet service providers.

It hopes they will help distribute the free software.

The package, which normally costs £99, is a cut-down version of EROL2, a new version of the product which will be launched in October.

It lets small businesses sell goods over the internet with secure credit card payment.

The software helps design sites and list products.

Commercial director Malcolm Duffitt said: "We're aiming to boost online trading in the UK by offering vendors a risk-free reliable product.

"E-commerce sceptics can now dip their toes in the online trading waters without any risk or financial outlay."

www.erol.co.uk
evolution has three copies of EROL2 worth £400 each to give away.

Readers can become the first people in the country to use the software by answering the following question - which European luxury clothing website went bust in May?

Answers on a postcard or back of an envelope (including name, address and daytime phone number) should be sent to:

EROL2 Competition, Promotions Department, Argus House, Crowhurst Road, Hollingbury, Brighton, BN1 8AR, to arrive by next Tuesday.

The first three correct entries drawn will win a copy of the software. Winners will be notified by phone. Newsquest competition rules apply.
