There are so many books on the market instructing us on how to have a "hot sex life".
It seems to me that if the word "sex" is included in the title it will be guaranteed a place on the bestsellers list.
Are we a nation obsessed with the subject? How are the so-called experts able to teach us to have the ultimate sex life, and what qualifies them to do so?
I think there is a tendency to imagine that everyone else's lovemaking is better - and doubtless more regular - than our own.
There are some interesting findings in a recent study. It is in fact the world's most extensive sex survey in 50 years.
The bad news is one in three women have no interest in sex and one in three men are affected by the most common problem of premature ejaculation.
The good news is that the quality of sex improves with age, especially for women.
Interestingly, the survey found people in committed relationships derived greater physical pleasure than those who were single, divorced or widowed.
