Horsham overcame Wembley 4-0 in division two with Gavin Geddes scoring twice and making one.

With England falling to Germany a few 100 yards down the road, Horsham took the lead after 28 minutes. Gary Charman beat his defender on the left and his shot was helped over the line by Geddes beyond goalkeeper Keito Karamoko.

Geddes poached his second in first-half injury time. Steve Flain cut inside his defender and drove in a powerful left-foot shot that Karamoko could only parry and Geddes clipped the ball over the prone goalkeeper.

As the rain resumed in the second half and the noise from the nearby Stadium faded, Hornets defended resolutely with Ian Chatfield saving a 30-yard pile-driver from Kenrick Dyer after 69 minutes.

Geddes laid on the third for Ryan Andrews in the 74th minute.

Clinton Moore had a goal disallowed for a foul on the keeper in the last minute, but three minutes into injury time debutant Graham Mackay added the fourth.

Ryman Leaguers Lewes will face Albion Reserves after winning 4-2 at Rich City outfit Bosham in the Sussex Senior Cup.

Lewes scored their first goal after only 90 seconds when Tommy Pattenden chipped over the impressive Pat Robinson.

Bosham equalised with a 35-yard lob by Brian Clarke after 21 minutes.

Six minutes from the break Andy Johnson restored the visitors' lead and midway through the second half Johnson missed from the penalty spot for Lewes but Warren Bagnall extended the lead after 71 minutes.

Wayne Hine reduced the arrears from the spot seven minutes from time before Bagnall added his second in injury time.
