Juke the dog doesn't only need a home - he is also looking for a leg.
The one-year-old, three-legged mongrel faces a bleak future unless he can find a replacement for his missing limb.
He lost his left front leg when it was accidentally shut in a door at his previous owner's home.
Now animal lover Barbie Keel has taken Juke in at her sanctuary in Freezeland Land, Bexhill.
Barbie, 65, is desperately seeking a solution to Juke's plight in the form of a dog-sized prosthetic limb.
She said: "Juke is a lovely little dog. When he first came to me I was worried about his health but the vet has assured me he is very healthy apart from the missing leg.
"He is such a happy dog and he can get about on his three remaining legs but if he goes too fast he falls over."
However, time is running out for Juke. Barbie said: "He needs a home but most of all he needs a leg.
"I have asked about maybe getting him some kind of false one but there is no such thing.
"If it was a hind leg there wouldn't be so much of a problem because they can use a wheeled support.
"The vet says his other legs will eventually give out and he won't be able to carry on."
Barbie is hoping one of our readers may be able to at least offer Juke a home.
She said: "He can't run around like other dogs but he would make a wonderful pet."
Anyone who can help should call Barbie on 01424 222032.
