Isn't it about time the government stopped blaming the former government for homelessness? Blame won't save the situation, but those in power now could try to do something positive to help.
Perhaps Lord Bassam's problems weren't as deep or ongoing as those on our streets at the moment.
The current Argus campaign tells us not to give to beggars. I've quite often given, but not money. I've given cups of tea, sandwiches and bags of chips. I'm sure nobody would begrudge a cold, hungry person what we all take for granted.
