I think it time the people of Brighton and Hove got together to sue Brighton and Hove Council for its inability to maintain clean streets.
Local councillors tell us side streets are inspected and cleaned three times a week. In my street, however, rubbish has been sitting in the gutter for six weeks. I constantly have to clear the space outside my house.
Road sweepers tell us Sita has told them not to clean side streets and even main roads must be reported before they are cleaned. Isn't it time to get rid of contractors from other countries, interested only in profits, and either use trusted local contractors, or the council itself to undertake this service? Then we may finally see clean streets again.
