Tory hopeful David Gold continues to show he has more front than the whole of Brighton and Hove when he criticises the government for not increasing the minimum wage by more than 10p an hour (Argus, October 2.)
Someone should tap him on the shoulder and remind him it was his party which fought tooth and nail to stop the minimum wage being introduced at all, saying it would send thousands of businesses to the wall and put people on the dole.
In fact, the rate of businesses going bankrupt is lower now than it ever was under the Tories, more than 1.7 million people are benefiting from the minimum wage introduced by Labour and unemployment is at its lowest for more than 20 years.
