Police today said they had not ruled out arson as a possible cause of a fire which wrecked a furniture warehouse in Portslade.
Detective Constable Lee Taylor, of Hove police, said: "The investigation into the cause is continuing but there are two lines of inquiry, an electrical fault and arson."
The blaze on Tuesday night destroyed Lifestyle and Home Furniture Warehouse in Fishergate Terrace, which makes and sells pine furniture.
The damage is expected to run into tens of thousands of pounds.
Witnesses or anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at around 11pm should contact DC Taylor on 01273 665722.
