I an concerned about the increasing misbehaviour of youths on the No 1 bus. It really is not safe to travel back from central Brighton after 9pm on the upstairs of the bus. The other night, at around 9.30pm, myself and an elderly passenger were intimidated by four youths aged about 15.
This sort of behaviour happens time and time again. The poor drivers cannot always intervene because they risk physical abuse.
I fear someone, a driver or passenger, is going to be seriously injured or worse if the situation is not remedied. Why does the bus company not put on single-decker buses in the evenings, or perhaps plain-clothes policeman could sometimes ride the route? For the sake of the many socially-minded people at Whitehawk something must be done before someone is seriously hurt or worse.
