I commute from Lewes and feel Ian Betteridge's criticism of the service provided by train operator Connex during the recent bad weather was unjustified. Did he not realise he only arrived at his destination because Connex put on a diesel, rather than a electric engine?
If electric trains had been used he may well have been electrocuted. Lewes Station was closed, due to a landslide at Cooksbridge, making the way impassable and five feet of water on the tracks.
Train companies cannot be held responsible for acts of God and Connex should be commended for fighting against all odds to get people to their destinations. Remember that none of the flooding was predicted.
