Frustration boiled over as the Albion's undefeated run came to an end at the weekend.

The Seagulls were beaten by a goal in the 90th minute in their top of the table away clash with Third Division leaders Chesterfield.

A minority of fans reacted badly to Albion's unfortunate defeat, throwing plastic bottles on to the pitch.

One was arrested for public order offences and several others were reported to have caused trouble in Chesterfield town centre later on Saturday afternoon.

An estimated 2,500 Albion fans made the journey to Derbyshire.

A police spokesman said: "For the most part the Albion fans were very well behaved and a credit. People didn't run amok.

"It was only a very small minority that got involved in any trouble. As far as we are concerned the Albion supporters are welcome to come back to Chesterfield at any time."
