I have been a Brighton and Hove Albion supporter for most of my life and attended the Scunthorpe game on Saturday, October 14. I parked my car, as instructed, within the University of Brighton Mithras House car park. l am fully aware of the restriction of Brighton playing at Withdean Stadium and like the vast majority of others, am grateful we are back in town.
When I returned from the game I discovered my car had been broken into and some papers stolen. They are worthless to the thief but of great value to me and my company.
I then realised there was no representative of the football club present and cars parked in Mithras House or Mill Hill are sitting targets as they are unattended between 2.30pm and 5pm. The CCTV system at Mithras House does not cover the car parks.
I have reported this incident to the police who have said there is little or no chance of getting my belongings back.
The football club should be providing security coverage at these car parks. For Mithras House, it would only require two people for the duration of the game. The Albion have enough marshals to be able to spare a couple to protect fans' cars and property.
Although BHA did not steal the items from my car, I feet there is a portion of blame for the club to bear.
