The Royal British Legion recently celebrated its 75th Anniversary as a major caring charity. Remembrance Day is Sunday, November 12 and I urge Argus readers to support the Royal British Legion as generously as possible.
The Royal British Legion undertakes welfare, benevolent work and more for Service and ex-Servicemen and women and their families and each year the demand upon resources grows.
The annual Poppy Appeal is the major fundraiser and I hope, as in the past, readers will respond generously this year. Poppies will be on sale shortly and house-to-house collections will begin at the end of October.
The Poppy Appeal Organisers would welcome volunteers to assist with the sale of poppies and anyone with time to offer should contact Ray Books on tel: 01273 779382 or call at the Poppy Shop, at 16 Baker Street, Brighton, tel: 01273 677707.
