It does have some good points, particularly a feature where you can gamble your players on the outcome of a match.
There is a nice in-game commentary from Sky Sports stalwarts Andy Gray, Richard Keys and Clive Tyldsley.
But you still cannot help but feel there is not enough substance.
The complex moves make it almost impossible to play straight away without studying the War and Peace-sized manual.
Despite the big names and the cool look, it has nothing new to offer and as such becomes mired in mediocrity.
